OCALA, Fla. (Gray News/TMX) - A firefighter was lowered into a “cave” to rescue a dog that fell down a 14-foot hole Monday night, according to officials.

Marion County Fire Rescue shared photos and a video that showed them rescuing the dog named Bella.

Bella’s owner called for help after she fell down a hole in the middle of an open field near Ocala, Florida.

Marion Oaks Engine 24 was the first on the scene, and the captain called in a technical rescue team after finding that Bella was trapped at the bottom of a 14-foot hole hidden in a field of grass.

A video shows a firefighter strapped into a harness suspended from a fire truck’s ladder, slowly lowering into the hole. The rescuer retrieved Bella from the hole, described as a “cave,” and was hoisted back above ground.

Bella was reunited with her owner.
