Officer found passed out in his patrol car with meth pipe in hand, department says

YAZOO CITY, Miss. (WLBT/Gray News) - A Mississippi officer is facing charges after he was found passed out in his patrol car with an illegal substance in his possession.

According to the Yazoo City Police Department, a Belzoni officer, who was later identified as James Jackson, was arrested over the weekend.

Authorities said Jackson was found passed out with a meth pipe in his hand while in his police vehicle last Saturday.

Yazoo City police said they also found marijuana in the glove box of the vehicle.

Jackson refused a sobriety test and was taken into police custody. He is facing charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and DUI refusal.

Jackson has since been released on bond.

Authorities did not release any further immediate information.
