LAWTON, Okla. (Gray News) - A man in Oklahoma says he has recorded evidence of a Bigfoot but some online believe it’s a hoax.

The man, identified as Emmanuel Alfaro, posted the 10-second video to TikTok under the handle e_man580.

In the video, Alfaro appears to come across an apparent “Bigfoot” sitting in the forest. The video goes blurry as the creature turns to look at Alfaro, who takes off running.

Alfaro says in the caption of the video that he was doing some sightseeing at the Parallel Forest, a wildlife refuge in Lawton, Oklahoma when he spotted something in the distance.

“Scariest moment of my life, and I really think I caught a (expletive) Bigfoot on camera in Parallel Forest,” the caption reads.

The authenticity of the video has been questioned, with many in the comments noting that it looks like a Halloween costume. Some even mention a specific costume: the Jack Links Adult Sasquatch costume.

TMX reported they asked Alfaro if he may have been involved in a stunt or if he was aware of anything like that.

Alfaro responded that he had “no clue” since he reportedly ran away as quickly as he could. He also said he was the only one in the parking lot of the refuge, with no other cars in sight.

Bigfoot myths are popular in some parts of Oklahoma, particularly in the Ouachita Mountains in southeast Oklahoma. A Bigfoot festival is even hosted annually in the town of Honobia, Oklahoma.

There even was proposed state legislation directed at the cryptid. The Associated Press reported a state lawmaker introduced a bill in 2021 that would establish a Bigfoot hunting season, saying that it would boost tourism in the area.
