Truck driver arrested after missing 12-year-old found in the cab of his semi at truck stop

CARROLL COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT/Gray News) - A truck driver has been arrested in Mississippi after a missing child was found in the cab of his semi at a truck stop.

According to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and FBI agents responded to an alert regarding a missing and/or endangered 12-year-old child on Tuesday.

Deputies were notified that the girl was in the Vaiden area and might be at an area truck stop.

FBI agents and Carroll County deputies began searching vehicles at the 35/55 truck stop in Vaiden and discovered the girl in a cab of a semitruck.

The truck’s driver, 35-year-old Randy Donovan Taylor, was taken into custody and booked into Carroll County Regional Correctional Facility.

Taylor is facing multiple charges from federal, state and local levels in the abduction and victimization of the child.

Authorities said more charges are also expected from North Carolina and Louisiana regarding the situation.

In Carroll County, he is facing charges of possession of child pornography and lustful touching.

Authorities did not release any further immediate information.
