GLENDALE, Ariz. (KPHO/Gray News) - A crash in Arizona sent several people to the hospital on Thursday after a truck crashed into the side of a building.

According to Glendale police, the crash happened near 51st Avenue and Butler Drive, when a pickup truck and another vehicle that was attempting to make a left turn collided.

The collision caused the pickup driver to lose control and crash into the corner of the American Child Care Center.

Glendale Police Sgt. Moroni Mendez says there were around 16-17 children and five adults inside the day care at the time of the crash. No children or staff members were injured, but the building was evacuated.

The pickup driver and the three children inside the truck were all sent to the hospital with minor injuries.

Firefighters removed the truck from the building and an inspector determined that the damage won’t cause it to collapse.

Fencing and boards were used to block off the damaged area.

Several children and other adults were seen standing outside of the day care following the crash.

The pickup truck sustained heavy damage to its front end.

Glendale police say who was at fault for the crash remains under investigation and they are checking if speed may have been a factor.
