WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - White House officials said that the U.S. military was closely working with Israel to defend the country as Iran launched its ballistic missile attack on Tuesday.

President Joe Biden said that the military helped Israel shoot down Iranian missiles as the attack happened on Tuesday.

Administration officials explained that U.S. military naval destroyers joined Israeli Air Defense units in firing interceptors which took out the missiles.

President Biden also called that missile strikes appeared to be defeated and called them ineffective. He went on to say that is a testament to the Israeli military capabilities and planning between the U.S. and Israel.

He also made it clear that America will stand with its ally.

“Make no mistake, the United States is fully, fully, fully supportive of Israel,” said the president.

When asked about how Israel should respond, President Biden said discussions are happening and said they are in constant contact with the Israeli government.

When asked about what the consequences should be for Iran, he said “that remains to be seen.”
