‘Constant kindness’: Community remembering beloved teacher killed in Hurricane Helene
ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ/Gray News) - A community in Virginia is continuing to clean up after Hurricane Helene while honoring a beloved teacher who was among those who lost their life.
On Monday, a moment of silence was held in remembrance of Holly King, a Montgomery County teacher.
King was a special education teacher at Eastern Montgomery High School but sadly did not survive the deadly storm that blew through the area over the weekend.
The high school teacher is being remembered for her “constant kindness and beautiful smile.”
Volleyball teams from Eastern Montgomery played their games on Monday at Roanoke Catholic School as the crowd and teams paid their respects for King.
Green was King’s favorite color and supporters as well both teams wore green in her honor.
