KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT/Gray News) - Gerald Lay celebrated his 100th birthday on Monday.
The veteran has had quite a life and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and worked as a civil engineer after his service.
Aside from Lay’s military service and career, he also made plenty of time in his life for two of his favorite things: music and Cracker Barrel.
Lay’s advice for making it to the centenarian club is to “take things slow and enjoy life while you can.”
