Tree trimmer electrocuted while working in backyard of home

FAIRWAY, Kan. (KCTV/Gray News) - A man has died in Kansas after suffering an electric shock while trimming trees.

First responders said they were called to a home in Johnson County for reports of an electrocution report just before 2:15 p.m.

Authorities said crews found a 30-year-old man working as a tree trimmer in a harness nearly 10 feet off the ground when they arrived at the scene.

Firefighters rescued the man who was in cardiac arrest and attempted resuscitation efforts.

However, those efforts were unsuccessful, and the worker was pronounced dead.

No further information was immediately available.
