Pet monkey rescued from rooftop by first responders

SPENCER COUNTY, Ind. (WFIE/Gray News) - A medical run in Indiana quickly turned bizarre after officials say they discovered a pet monkey was roaming free.

Luce Fire Department officials said when they arrived on scene n the Sand Ridge area Friday night, they tended to the patient and found out their monkey had gotten loose and scaled a building.

Officials said they used their rescue training to get the monkey down from the building without being harmed.

Firefighters said the monkey was kept safe while the owner was tended to by EMS.

Luce Fire shared video from the rescue, noting that the incident was a “first for all of us.”
