PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV/Gray News) – Country music star Scotty McCreery stopped his show in Colorado on Saturday night to point out a man in the crowd who allegedly hit a woman.

Video from McCreery’s performance shows him stopping his song to point the man out to security.

“Right here, that’s a lady you just hit, sir,” McCreery says while pointing to the man in the crowd. “Absolutely not, you just hit the lady. Police? Security? Is she OK? Get the heck out of here.”

McCreery stopped his set at the Colorado State Fair for several minutes as security escorted the man out of the venue.

“On God’s green earth. At a Scotty McCreery show? What are you doing?” the singer said. “That’s absolutely unacceptable.”

After security gave the all-clear, McCreery picked up his set again.

In a statement, officials with the Colorado State Fair confirmed that an assault took place during the performance:

“We can confirm that an incident took place at the Scotty McCreery concert where a man assaulted a woman and the performer stopped the show. Colorado State Fair security assisted with crowd control. This incident is still under investigation and we cannot comment further.”

Officials are asking anyone with video of the alleged assault to share it with Colorado State Fair security at csf.security@state.co.us.

The suspect has not been publicly identified.
