ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ/Gray News) - A little girl from Roanoke, Virginia, who was recently placed in hospice care, has died, according to her family on Facebook.

Meg Burrow, 11, had a “rare genetic condition called CTBP-1, where she is the 13th person in the world to be diagnosed with it,” the girl’s mother, Meredith Burrow, said in 2023.

The family posted Thursday, “Our sweet Meg gained her angel wings this morning at 4:09am in my arms surrounded by Todd, Ally and Teagan. She was fighter and fought to the end. She had the most Beautiful smile. Meg brought so much joy to this world. She taught everyone what Love truly was. We appreciate all the love and support and prayers. Thank you for climbing these mountains with us. We need all the support we can get.”

Meg’s condition was progressive and severely affected her mobility and speech.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help the family with expenses.
