KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV/Gray News) - An Amber Alert issued for a 9-month-old child has been canceled after authorities located the infant and took his mother into custody.

The statewide search was called off for Armon Calvin after he was found safe Wednesday afternoon.

The alert was issued after Armon was taken by his mother, 24-year-old Traci Calvin Wednesday morning.

According to Officer Jacon Becchina with the Kansas City Police Department, Armon’s grandmother reported he might be in danger. Calvin had reportedly threatened to kill her son before taking him and leaving.

Becchina reported Calvin was found at about 1:25 p.m. with her vehicle in the Ruskin area of Kansas City, Missouri. She was taken into custody.

An investigation has been launched into the endangerment of the child’s welfare, Becchina said.
