RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Summer means more farmer’s markets, and in Deadwood, Fridays are farmer’s market nights.

The second annual Deadwood Friday’s Farmers Market began with more than 30 local vendors. From fresh produce, baked goods, clothes, and even a playground for kids, there is sure to be something for the entire family to enjoy.

A crowd favorite is Minnesela Meats, a family-owned and operated ranch that provides South Dakota-raised beef.

Co-owner Stacey Besler says she loves coming to the markets to show marketgoers it is possible to buy locally.

“We think it’s important to have South Dakota meats at the market because we like to educate all of our locals that they can have South Dakota-raised beef. And then we get to talk to a bunch of tourists all over and let them know we do ship nationwide, they get to try all of our samples, so you can find us at a lot of the markets,” Besler said.

You can enjoy Deadwood’s Farmers Market and shop locally every Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Gordon Park.
