Woman found dead in Rapid City, police call death ‘suspicious’

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Rapid City Police arrived on the 5000 block of Dane Lane Tuesday morning and found a Native American woman dead. In a statement, Assistant Police Chief Scott Sitts described this death as suspicious.

The woman’s name will not be released until law enforcement is able to notify her family. Rapid City Police and the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office will begin an investigation into the cause of the woman’s death and any suspicious circumstances surrounding it. An autopsy is scheduled soon.
