RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - If you happened to be visiting Sturgis today and wondered why you saw a lot of Camaros in town, well they’re here for the 13th Annual Sturgis Camaro Rally.

The rally kicked off yesterday evening during the town’s Music on Main event.

Attendees were also able to get a close look at the stylish cars this morning as well at the Drive-by Parade at the Fort Meade VA Center and the Thunderdome.

The rally will feature some of the usual events including a poker run, show-n-shine, autocross, and burnout.

New to this year’s Rally festivities was a group ride to Devil’s Tower with riders departing to The Monument at 10:30 a.m.

Camaro enthusiasts came from all over the country including from Arkansas, Missouri, and Washington state.

“The knowledge of the people that have been around us is incredible to learn. They tell me the different types of cars and the modifications they do; and where they got it from and the history of the cars. It’s really fun, it’s like learning about their other child,” City of Sturgis Rally and Events Director Tammy Even-Cordell said.

You can see those cars at the Show and Shine in downtown Sturgis starting at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The rally will conclude on Sunday with the Fun Run event at 9 a.m.
