SUV catches fire in Rapid City, quickly extinguished by firefighters

Rapid City Fire Department Squad 1 responded to a car fire around 11 a.m.

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Rapid City Fire Department crews responded to a vehicle fire Tuesday morning on Mallow Street.

According to a statement from the fire department, the blaze produced large amounts of smoke in the residential area. Fortunately, the vehicle did not explode, no one was injured, and no property was damaged aside from the vehicle itself.

As of now, Rapid City firefighters have not determined the cause of the fire.
