‘I Love Rapid City’ project aims to bring community closer
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - For those of you who love Rapid City and aren’t afraid to show it, you can now do so with the help of a new city initiative.
The Rapid City Community Relations Commission is offering 400 customized signs as part of their ‘I love Rapid City’ project, including a customized fill-in-the-blank option. Among some of the messages are I love Rapid City because “we are community”, “our beautiful outdoors”, and “because it’s the best small town”, just to name a few.
This first-of-its-kind project has organizers hoping it will bring the community together.
“We think it’s important to really advocate for the positive features of Rapid City. We love our city and when people will celebrate why they love our city it brings a better physical and mental well-being. We have great neighbors, we help one another and it’s just really great to reflect on those,” Community Relations Commission Coordinator Lafawn Janis said.
For anyone wanting to show their love for Rapid City your next chance to pick up signs will be Monday, June 17 at City Hall from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. There are also delivery options available as well.
For more information contact Janis with the Community Relations Commission at 605-718-2420 with questions or for more information.
