Partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected Friday with a stray shower possible in the morning. By the afternoon there could be a few strong to severe thunderstorms across the area. Temperatures are in the 80s for many with a few near 90°.
Temperatures will stay hot Saturday. It is looking more likely that Saturday will be the first 90° day of the year for Rapid City. There will be a fair amount of sunshine into the middle of the day, but clouds will bubble up into the afternoon hours with another round of showers and storms. Some may become strong.
A front will pass through Saturday night and bring in some cooler air for Father’s Day. Expect partly cloudy skies through the day and wind gusts up to 35 mph at times.
Cooler temperatures continue to filter in early next week. Highs on Monday will likely be in the 60s for much of the area with mostly cloudy skies and a few showers. Highs will range from the 60s to the 70s across South Dakota and Wyoming for much of next week.
