RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - If you’re looking for a place to browse around and get lost in a book, you might just be in luck.

Henry’s Books in Spearfish will officially open its doors to the public on Tuesday.

The independent bookstore was founded by entrepreneurs Elizabeth and Dylan Mattson.

Elizabeth says their inspiration for opening the store was due to their two-year-old Henry’s love for reading and the need to open another bookstore in town.

As part of their crowdfunding campaign back in the fall, Elizabeth went to several businesses around town. She gave out free books and learned what books people were interested in reading.

The store features a variety of genres including non-fiction, fiction, and history.

“We’re excited to see a lot of friendly faces, familiar faces. We’re excited to connect with a lot of new people in the community and get them excited about something that maybe they hadn’t thought to read before or maybe they’ve got some books that they’re hoping to see,” says Elizabeth.

Mattson looks forward to sharing her love for books with the rest of the community and wants to remind customers that they don’t accept used books.

Henry’s Books can be found at 111 East Hudson Suite A in downtown Spearfish.
