RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - South Dakota’s lone representative, Dusty Johnson, was in West River this week and commented on the ongoing issue of border security.

Johnson visited with residents of the Westhills Village Retirement Community Friday, answering questions from those present regarding any concerns. During the conversation, Johnson brought up the issue of border security and highlighted the political implications of the Biden administration’s approach and how it will affect the next election.

“I think if Joe Biden had sealed the border six months ago, he’d have won this race, but he chose not to, and as a result, there are plenty of Republicans who don’t think want a solution right now because I think they know that would make it less likely that former President Donald Trump would be elected,” Johnson said.

As election season approaches, the border situation remains an important focal point for both parties.
