Rapid City pools are set to open Saturday
Some positions still open to make summer fun a reality
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - What’s summer without a dip in the pool? With three of the city’s pools set to open Saturday, the city’s Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a job fair to staff many of those summer positions.
The Horace Mann, Parkview and Sioux Park pools are open daily from noon to 6 p.m starting this Saturday, but the summer season can’t happen without the staff, and Recreation Program Specialist Teaghan Slagle said pool maintenance workers are most in need.
”We have to have all of our maintenance (positions) staffed up in order to run one pool -- not that it wouldn’t open or anything -- but it puts a lot more work on one guy to kinda get things done. So if anyone’s looking for a part time job doing maintenance we are hiring for that,” said Slagle.
The job fair will take place Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. at the Roosevelt Swim Center. Open positions include Aquatics and Ice Maintenance Worker, Meadowbrook Golf Course cart washer, lifeguards, ice skating instructor and ice arena worker.
