High school seniors can now get a real estate license for free in this state

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC/Gray News) – Graduating high school seniors will be able to obtain real estate licenses for free in Tennessee.

The Tennessee Real Estate Commission announced a new scholarship program with Kaplan Real Estate Education.

The program provides the base education required for the pre-licensing Tennessee exam:

  • Tennessee 60-hour Real Estate Principles online course (usually $289)
  • Tennessee 30-hour New Affiliates online course (usually $149)
  • Interactive study group live webinars
  • National and Tennessee Real Estate Exam prep (usually $429-$829)

Students will be able to complete the entire program at their own pace and will have six to 12 months to complete their courses from their date of enrollment.

The program is available to all Tennessee graduating seniors.

“The Tennessee High School Senior Real Estate Licensing Program is an extension of our Department’s mission to empower professionals by giving high school students a way to begin a potentially high-earning career in real estate upon their graduation,” said Carter Lawrence, the Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance commissioner. “I am excited to support this program as it offers specialized education and training while giving Tennessee’s next generation a way to start exploring their career opportunities, gain more experience, and potentially build their savings.”
