How the Hops and Hogs event supports the City of Deadwood
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Looking for something fun to do this weekend? The annual Hops and Hogs event has a new time slot in Deadwood this Friday and Saturday, giving participants the chance to find their new favorite IPA or craft beer.
As the name suggests, the Hops and Hogs event is a collaboration between Deadwood bars and local brewers that tasks all the bars participating with creating a pork-based dish to pair with the beers they’re serving.
Those taking part in the event will choose from the regular or VIP tickets with the VIP tickets offering the chance to sample rare IPAs not found anywhere else.
This event isn’t just all fun either, money made from this event goes back into helping the city.
“There is a ticket fee and those proceeds go to different projects around the town, for example, all the flowers you see up and down main street during the summertime those are purchased from our funds and various other activities and organizations that support Deadwood in general,” Randy Brown public relations for the Deadwood Tabacco Company said.
The event runs on Friday and Saturday this week. You can register in person at the welcome center in Deadwood or online. You can find the online sign-up here.
