RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Members of the Rapid City Police Department debuted the new kids’ clubhouse at Knollwood Townhouses to a group of eager children Friday night.

Teaming up with Knollwood Townhouses Community Manager DeeDee Rothlisberger and local institutions including Fountain Springs Church, Black Hills Community Bank and I.Am.Legacy aims to provide children with a secure place to have fun.

“The kids’ clubhouse here in the Knollwood Townhouses, it’s just a safe place for kids to play after school from 3-5 p.m,” Rothlisberger said. “There’s also a food pantry in there that’s stocked by Knollwood Methodist Church.”

Features inside the clubhouse include a “tree house,” a video game station, arcade games, board games, Legos and more. Organizers at the kids’ clubhouse grand reopening said they hope to embark on similar community development projects around Rapid City.
