Warmer temperatures into the Mother's Day Weekend.
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - We will see plenty of sunshine today. It will be warmer as high temperatures climb into the upper 60s in town with a few 70s on the South Dakota plains.
A geomagnetic storm watch is in place for tonight. That means the northern lights could be visible around the area. Be sure to find a dark spot north of city lights and allow your eyes to adjust to the darkness and good luck!
It will be a warm weekend with highs in the 70s for many. Plenty of sunshine expected both days, but a few afternoon showers and storms will be possible on Mother’s Day, especially around the Black Hills.
Next week will be mild with highs in the 60s and 70s. Afternoon storms will be possible through the middle of the week and it could get a little breezy, too.
