Warmer with the chance to see the northern lights Friday night
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Areas of clouds will stick around through the night. There is the chance for a stray shower or two as well. Low temperatures will end up in the 40s for many with a few falling into the upper 30s.
Morning cloud cover will give way to plenty of sunshine by Friday afternoon. It will be warmer as high temperatures climb into the upper 60s in town with a few 70s on the South Dakota plains.
A geomagnetic storm watch is in place for Friday night, where the northern lights could be visible around the area. Be sure to find a dark spot north of city lights and allow your eyes to adjust to the darkness and good luck!
It will be a warm weekend with highs in the 70s for many. Plenty of sunshine expected both days, but a few afternoon showers and storms will be possible on Mother’s Day.
Next week will be mild with highs in the 60s and 70s. Afternoon storms will be possible through the middle of the week and it could get a little breezy, too.
