How students are impacted as more school districts move to four-day weeks

(InvestigateTV) — You may have heard of a four-day workweek, but what about the same for schools?

It’s a concept districts across the country have been exploring as hundreds move toward a four-day school week.

InvestigateTV+ found the change comes in an effort to reduce costs and to recruit and retain teachers as the U.S. faces a critical shortage of educators.

Some question the impact a shorter week could have on students who already missed out on significant learning during the pandemic.

Also, concerns surrounding student nutrition, physical health, and involvement in risky behavior on those fifth days have been raised. Not to mention, the childcare needs of many families.
