‘Menopause Makeovers’ on the rise as more women attempt to fight effects of aging
(InvestigateTV) — It’s a stage in a woman’s life that can bring uncertainty and unwanted symptoms.
A woman is diagnosed with menopause 12 months after her last period, typically in her forties and fifties.
According to the Mayo Clinic, the average age in the United States is 51. In the months or years leading up to menopause, many women experience perimenopause with symptoms like hot flashes, sagging skin and weight gain.
There’s now a new trend that’s reversing the effects of menopause on women’s bodies.
Women interested in menopause makeovers are flooding a local plastic surgeon’s office for consults, looking to lift, tuck and generally ‘undo’ all the effects of menopause on their bodies.
Two women who experienced those symptoms decided to take part in a growing trend to reverse the effects of aging.
Reporter Jen Picciano explains why women are lining up for a menopause makeover.
