RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Heroes and Villains in downtown Rapid City have been selling memorabilia since 2017.

Nathan Harding, owner of the store has been buying, selling, and trading, coins, comic books, retro video games, and toys for 15 years.

“When we started off eight years ago we started off with my personal collection and my business partner at the time, his personal collection. From there we just acquired stuff from buying from the public mostly,” Harding said.

What makes Heroes and Villans more unique from other stores is they mostly sell 80s and 90s nostalgia.

“We see the dads and moms come in trying to get their collections back from when they were a kid, and kids trying to start new collections of the newer sets. So, it’s been fun to see families come in and experience the same things, just a multi-generational thing,” Harding said.

One of the most expensive items the store acquired was a 30-thousand-dollar comic book.

“A few years back we got to purchase the first appearance of Spider-Man in comic books. We only owned it for a couple of weeks, but we sold it and that was probably one of the coolest things we had in here,” Harding said.

According to Marvel.com Spider-Man first made his appearance on June 5th, 1962.
