Cooler than normal today with a few morning rain and snow showers.
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - An upper level disturbance will bring rain and snow showers to southwest and south central South Dakota this morning. This precipitation may make it up to the I-90 corridor. A dusting of snow will be possible in southwest South Dakota and the higher elevations, but no major travel problems are expected. Temperatures will be below normal today by about 10 degrees with highs in the 40s to lower 50s.
Warmer weather arrives this weekend with sunshine and 60s Saturday and 70s on Sunday. Strong, gusty winds are likely Sunday, up to 50 mph possible.
A broken line of showers and thunderstorms will move across the area Sunday night, then windy and cooler weather returns next week with periods of scattered showers. Where the heaviest rainfall occurs next week will depend on the position of several weather features - too early to pinpoint those details. But do count on wind next week!
