Mixology at Home - Wedding Cocktails
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - What is the perfect cocktail for weddings? Honestly, whatever the bride wants, champagne, margaritas, even beer. If the bride wants, the bride gets, that simple.
For a wedding toast, you can’t go wrong with champagne, maybe add a little Chambord in the flute before you pour the champagne.
This cocktail is also simple. I just call it a wedding cocktail, something you can serve with the wedding cake. Most, if not all the ingredients are typical home bar fare, vanilla vodka, white chocolate liqueur, white crème de cacao and (this is optional) Chambord, which is a raspberry liqueur.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz vanilla vodka
- 1 oz white chocolate liqueur
- 1 oz white crème de cacao
- 1/2 oz Chambord (optional)
- Pink sugar for rimming glass
- Edible flower (optional)
Directions: First, moisten the rim of a martini glass and dip it into a plate with pink sugar. You can use water but if you want sweeter, maybe honey or agave, even simple syrup. In a shaker with ice, add the vodka, and liqueurs, shake to chill and mix the ingredients. Strain the drink into the sugar-rimmed martini glass.
You can add an edible flower for garnish but make sure no toxic chemicals were used in the growing process.
Colored sugars can usually be found in the baking aisle of local grocery stores. Also, if you don’t have Chambord, you can drizzle a little Grenadine down the side of the glass to add some color to the drink.
