TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG/Gray News) - A former teacher in Ohio who was accused of conduct “unbecoming of a professional educator” has resigned from her position. She is now addressing the situation.

Records show Jennifer Ruziscka, who worked for the Springfield Local School District for more than 20 years, resigned from teaching high school English after officials found out she was posting sexual content on her OnlyFans and Fansly accounts.

Springfield Local Schools Superintendent Matt Geha submitted a report to the Ohio State Board of Education Office of Professional Conduct on Feb. 2.

The report showed the district learned she was operating the online content subscription pages on Jan. 26. School officials confirmed those allegations the following day.

The report also stated the superintendent contacted Ruziscka on Jan. 27 to let her know she was being placed on paid administrative leave due to the online sexual behavior and “conduct unbecoming” of a teacher.

Geha told her in an email that day he would serve her with a pre-disciplinary notice on Jan. 29. A hearing was scheduled for Jan. 31, but she submitted her resignation on Jan. 29.

Ruziscka declined an interview, but released a statement to WTVG touting her performance as a teacher:

“I was honored to teach 9th grade English at SHS where my service spanned nearly 3 decades, and during what is often a thankless job, I was recognized and awarded for my innovation, dedication, and performance. My reputation was exemplary as one who put her students first, went above and beyond expectations, and created an engaging learning environment where students knew they were valued, motivated, and loved.

Understandably, that has led many to theorize why I elected to jeopardize a position I cherished so much. While disclosing specific details might offer a reasonable explanation to some, it would come at the cost of ruining the reputation of someone else. Enough damage has been done and I am not comfortable bringing unwanted attention to anyone else and causing that individual to pay for it.

In Harper Lee’s novel, ‘To Kill a Mockingbird,’ Atticus Finch explains to his daughter, Scout that ‘you never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view… Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.’ As I have always been one who stands in the shoes of others, I hope others will now stand in mine.”

It’s not known if the State Board of Education’s Office of Professional Conduct is considering revoking Ruziscka’s teaching license.

WTVG reached out to the board for more information and is currently waiting for a response.
