Downtown businesses impacted by ongoing construction on St. Joseph Street
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) -After taking a break for the winter season, construction resumed Monday on Saint Joseph Street in downtown Rapid City.
City officials say they have been communicating with downtown business owners to minimize the negative impact on their stores. Staple and Spice Market is one of many small businesses impacted by the construction.
“It’s our livelihood as a family and then also for my staff, so it’s really important to keep us, for people to know that we are still open, thriving. We’ve been doing well, and we just continue to hopefully make that work through the construction phase,” said Tammy Yanders, owner of Staple and Spice Market.
Many downtown businesses will be communicating with their customers via Facebook about different routes to their stores.
