GLENDALE, AZ (KTVK/KPHO/Gray News) — An Arizona woman is facing multiple charges after police said she was drunk when she ran over her girlfriend on Friday night.

According to police, at around 9:30 p.m., 30-year-old Josarina Woody was backing out of a driveway when her girlfriend fell in the road.

Court documents did not give an exact address for the area where the incident occurred.

As Woody turned to drive up 51st Avenue, the girlfriend was still lying on the road.

A neighbor also reportedly stood in his front yard telling Woody to stop the vehicle.

Police said Woody ran over the woman with her front tires, stopped, and then ran her over with the back tires before taking off.

Court documents didn’t say how badly the girlfriend was injured.

Police said Woody later pulled into a parking lot near 51st Avenue and Bethany Home Road. Officers approached her car and found her in the driver’s seat with a 5-year-old child in the back seat.

Officers said two breathalyzer tests showed her blood alcohol level was 0.178 and 0.179.

During an interview with police, Woody said she was just trying to leave the house she was at.

When asked why she ran the woman over, Woody said she didn’t know someone was in the road and she thought it was “the bump from the driveway.”

Woody was booked into jail on six charges, including extreme DUI and aggravated assault.
