Law enforcement investigates suspicious death in Rapid Valley

PENNINGTON COUNTY, S.D. (KEVN) - A report of a possible homicide on the 6000 block of Longview Road in Rapid Valley was called into the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, around 5:45 a.m. on Feb. 20.

Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered a deceased adult female inside the home and evidence of suspected arson.

During the joint PCSO/RCPD investigation, a suspect was identified and later apprehended at a house in the 1700 block of Moon Meadows Drive. The suspect was taken to Monument Health with alleged self-inflicted injuries. He remains in stable condition.

The parties involved have been identified and there is no danger to the public. The names have not been released.
