2022 Rapid City murder suspect arrested in Indiana

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Gregory Landers, 53, a Rapid City resident, was apprehended on Feb. 14, in Decatur, Indiana by the U.S. Marshals Service. He was issued an indictment on Feb. 7, charging him with first-degree manslaughter in the death of Acey Morrison, 30.

Morrison was fatally shot at Landers’ home on Country Road in Rapid City on August 21, 2022. Landers was also charged with unauthorized ingestion of a controlled drug or substance, and possession of a firearm by one with a prior drug conviction.

All charges in the three-count indictment stem from the same date of August 21, 2022.

The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office headed up the investigation, with support from the Rapid City Police Department. State’s Attorney Lara Roetzel will represent the prosecution on the state’s behalf.
