Credit card skimmers discovered at Rapid City Walmart stores
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - If you’ve been at either Walmart in Rapid City, you’ll want to take a look at your bank statement.
Sunday, the Rapid City Police Department was alerted to what appeared to be credit card skimmers at the stores. After looking at security footage ... Rapid City Police say thieves placed the skimmers at both Walmart stores on Jan. 9.
These skimmers at the checkout lanes take your credit or debit card numbers, but police say there’s no evidence to suggest any card information has been compromised here. Thieves use the information to make fraudulent purchases.
Police are looking for the two people. If you have any information, call RCPD Detective Nick Strampe at 605-394-4134 or send an anonymous tip to 847-411 with the letters ‘rcpd.’
Report suspicious activity or charges on your credit or debit cards to the issuing company.
