14 hospitalized in carbon monoxide incident near Yale campus
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB/Gray News) - Fourteen people were hospitalized in a carbon monoxide incident near the campus of Yale University, officials confirmed.
One person’s condition was described as serious. The victim was taken to a hospital in New York.
Officials said workers were doing construction and used a propane-powered saw without proper ventilation.
Medical personnel were called on Wednesday morning. Yale put out an alert to its community just before 11 a.m. that said emergency personnel and police responded to a scene at 73 Howe Street.
“Emergency personnel are actively working the scene of a medical incident,” the alert read. “Please avoid the area while the police investigate.”
The scene has since cleared.
