Food Network star Darnell ‘SuperChef’ Ferguson charged with strangulation, burglary

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE/TMX/Gray News) – Food Network star Darnell “SuperChef” Ferguson was arrested Tuesday in Louisville, Kentucky on charges including strangulation and burglary, officials said.

Ferguson, 36, is known for hosting the Food Network show “SuperChef: Grudge Match” and can be seen in videos across the network’s social media platforms.

He is also known for previously owning the SuperChefs restaurant in Louisville.

According to the Louisville Metro Corrections booking log, he is charged with burglary, strangulation, assault, terroristic threatening, menacing, criminal mischief, and theft.

An emergency protective order filed against Ferguson said he entered a woman’s home without permission and began yelling and damaging property before grabbing her by the neck and choking her, threatening to kill her.

The woman allegedly lost consciousness, and when she came to, she found that her shorts had been ripped off.

Ferguson eventually left the woman’s home, allegedly stealing her debit, credit, and identification cards.

Ferguson was released on bond Wednesday. He is expected in court Jan. 18 for a preliminary hearing.
